چکیده

Background: During early pregnancy raised beta human chorionic gonadotropin (β-HCG) level occurs during placental development. It may be used for identifying the induced hypertension. There are certain factors that causes hypertension and preeclampsia. However, many of associated specific cause is not known. Some common risk preeclampsia nulliparity, in a previous pregnancy, family history, history hypertension, renal disease antiphospholipid antibody syndrome or thrombophilia. However no single lab investigation can done cost-effectively to make diagnosis The objective this study was determine frequency Pregnancy patients with high maternal serum β-HCG at ( 13-20 weeks gestation). Methodology: A descriptive cross sectional conducted on Out Patient Department patient wards Obstetrics Gynecology KRL General Hospital, Islamabad. from 28th December 2018 27th June 2019. total 75 pregnant women, primary gravida multi age range from18-40years gestation were included. Serum human chorionic gonadotrophin levels in early pregnancy.

Serum hCG reference intervals for various gestational periods in normal pregnancies were determined using three commercial assays--two standardized against the WHO 2nd IS (Amersham Amerlex-M beta HCG RIA (AMX) and Abbott beta-HCG 15/15 (ABB] and one standardized against the WHO 1 IRP (Hybritech Tandem -E HCG (HYB]. Serial samples from patients with accurately determined gestational periods were...

A molar pregnancy detected by following beta-human chorionic gonadotropin levels after a first trimester loss.

This case report summarizes the sequence of events that led to the detection of a molar pregnancy missed by ultrasound and initial pathology examinations. This patient illustrates that following serial quantitative beta-human chorionic gonadotropin (B-hCG) levels after spontaneous, therapeutic, and elective abortions will help detect potentially life-threatening molar and ectopic pregnancies. F...

Detection of early pregnancy forms of human chorionic gonadotropin by home pregnancy test devices.

BACKGROUND Home pregnancy testing devices claim >99% diagnostic accuracy for pregnancy and utility on the first day of the missed menses or earlier. We investigated the forms of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in early pregnancy urines, the diagnostic accuracy claim, and the abilities of 15 devices to detect the different forms of hCG. METHODS We measured the concentrations of regular hCG ...

Human chorionic gonadotropin testing for early pregnancy viability and complications.

Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a heterogeneous molecule that is the marker of choice for detecting pregnancy and indicating ectopic pregnancies and spontaneous abortions. This article describes the use of hCG in detecting pregnancy, and how pregnancy detection is complicated by the extreme variation in individual hCG results and by the varying structure of hCG. The problems of false-posi...
